The Gardner

Once Upon A Time….Another beautiful song of Yanni from his album Dare to Dream..

This poem is dedicated to the spirit of this song which lets one delve into the past and remember the future which the past has shaped!

The Gardner

I sow the seeds of my sweat, to let the garden sprout,

As I till, I make you breathe – air & water.

When I dig you, I find you hiding the wounds of past failures & the Success,

While your flowers continue to radiate the happiness.

As I explore the shards of history,

I notice the bloody battles that have been fought over you, for you.

Man has become his own enemy,

In his quest to win, has killed many, only to get back to your womb.

While you hold closely the treasure of 100 others,

On whose bare body the success has trampled, And Succeeded.

Here Inside you, for every noble person,

There lie 100 others, who are not worthy enough,

But it is your infinite unbounded love that has accepted everyone.

For ages people have fought for you,

Unknowing that you already belong to them,

What you need is not a master,

But a gardener who takes the best out of you,

Who knows your worth, who makes you worth.

If Entrepreneurs are kids, why kids are not entrepreneurs?

This is a very interesting post on Entrepreneur magazine which says that Entrepreneur feels like kids and are inquisitive.  Here is the complete link

The article says….”Entrepreneurs tend to act like kids in a candy store. Nothing is off limits, everything is for the taking, and their inquisitiveness is as infuriating as it is contagious. When I asked Guide’s COO, Leslie Bradshaw, to describe how she thinks, and why she prefers the entrepreneurial approach to life, she responded without skipping a beat”

That made be think, if that is the case why we do not see too many Kidpreneur.

What I googled post that is interesting..

Kids Turned Enterpreneur

Couple of organizations working towards making Kidpreneurs..

KidPreneurs – It is a training organization and had books and shows for kids

8 Kid Entrepreneur to watch out for – There is an Indian also in the list

Kidpreneur Respurce Guide – How to make child into an entrepreneur

Forbes Article on Kidpreneur – Covers Kidworth

Kidworth claims to be able to allow kids to start a business in just minutes.  This timeframe doesn’t seem to take product development into account, but the company’s platform streamlines the organizational requirements of running a business and leaves the burgeoning CEOs to focus on their products and services.

Kidworth has over 24,000 users, according to the company.  It was founded by Rudy DeFelice, a former corporate lawyer turned tech start-up entrepreneur.

Housing.co.in plans to expand globally

There is quite a bit of action in Online Real Estate space lately. While, the Indian market still remains largely driven by Newspaper Ads and Brokers, Housing.co.in has decided to venture into US and other Asian countries… And they have spent a whooping $1 million to buy Housing.com domain and special number in US.Housing.co.in to expand in USA

That’s a pretty bold move given that the big daddy Zillow.com is also only present in USA.  All the best to Housing.co.in team!

From the consumer perspective I believe that, one needs to crack the dis-intermediation by eliminating brokers from the value chain. Housing.co.in model actually helps brokers to list properties for free, whereas the consumer needs  broker-free market-place.  Isn’t easy though.. Read this Why Zillow, Trulia and Redfin haven’t killed the real estate broker?

Online Only FMCG Brand

Online Only FMCG Brand!

With interesting e-commerce/ online startups springing everywhere, I wonder why nobody is thinking of online only FMCG brand.

Cracking the distribution has always been a strong entry barrier for a new FMCG player in the country. The distribution model favours the existing large players and only helps them diversify the product range.

For a new entrant, online only strategy can help in dis-inter-mediating the entire distribution channel, and also targeting the audience through digital marketing vs. spending crores of rupees on TV and print.

It is far more easier to create product differentiation in FMCG compared to clothes etc.. where we already have internet only brands like Zovi… Then why is nobody thinking of launching internet only FMCG brand.. I would think that packaged food is a right candidate for the same.

Shipping cost is ofcourse a concern, but can be accommodated in high value-low volume product… ex. packaged sweets, packaged namkeens etc..

Deliverance…….Another beautiful album of Yanni. Life moves so fast after listening to this song.  Dedicated a poem this which talks about a quick successions of bad phase of life a person is going through..

The Autumn Season

As I traverse the memoryless path over the leaf-sole,

I find all the barren trees expose their soul.

Their beauty, their ego, that had made them so mean,

Today the dance in delight, as they grow lean.

The trees which were the darling of their bunglows,

And the bushes which covered his poverished hut,

Appear the same, as the humility dawns on them,

Good or bad, Rich or poor, they are but the seasons fad.

The wind from east blows leaves to the west,

And the Birds from the westfly back to their nest,

Their  anxiety of transition is at best,

A means to realize that this autumn is mearly a test!!

As my emotions ger burried under my footsteps,

My perspective grows beyond the past and the future,

As I transencd my mind to peep into enldess hearts,

The east, the west, the mind, all apears to be a matter of name!!

As I listen to this amazing album of Yanni, my heart just floats in the air and I feel as if I am boundless !!

Follow your Heart

Let your heart go where it wants

Let not your rigidity haunt.

Winner is the one who inspite of fear does not daunts,

Take the control and empower you to write your own script and font.

Listen to the music within you

Respond to the artist who is playing the flute.

It might happen that it gets too late,

When you have nothing to do other than so submit to your fate.

The one who can make you sing a song,

He is the one where you belong.

So let loose yourself and do wat make you cheer,

Remove your heart from all kinds of useless fear !!

The Escapism

The Escapism

Sure the world is large enough,

So I became the castle,

But the voices followed everywhere…

Sure the world is large enough

So I became the forest,

And she blossomed in every tree…

Sure the world is large enough,

So I became the mountain,

But it could not stop feeling the wind…

Sure the world is large enough,

So I became the sea,

And the tides longed for her….

Sure the world is large enough,

So I became the cloud,

But it could hear the whisper of rainbow….

Sure the world is large enough,

So I became the star,

And it could not stop twinkle…

Sure the world is large enough,

So I hid myself in a pebble,

But the mud etched her memory…

Sure the world is large enough,

So I went into the womb of solitude,

Only to find her again…

My Dream

My Dream

Dream weaves like a music in my life,

My ‘Self’ rises in its aspiration,

The burning desire causes its precipitation.

Like a formless cloud it starts engulfing me,

I start sailing along, with the hope it will find its home,

When it will rain to spread the greenery all around.

But it will have to pass the muster of Sun’s heat,

Where it can burst during its incubation,

In its peregrenation, only to form another formless cloud.

Its end will it achieve one day,

The rainbow will be born,

My Pride, My sweat, My chef-d’oeuvre.

Trip to Chail-Sangla-Narkanda

Trip to Chail-Sangla-Narkanda

This has been one of the most memorable trip full of adventure and beauty… While I was planning for trip to Himachal I stumbled upon a place called Kalpa in Kinnaur. More I read about it , more interested I got in it. There was a catch though.. road to the journey is quite rough…well I thought of giving it a try….We headed late night from Gurgaon and reached Chail in the morning..People in Chail advised us to stay overnight at Chail and then head for Kinnaur.

Chail had a very pleasant weather and it really felt nice being in quite, calm and pleasant weather away from hot weather in Delhi. To our surprise we were able to find a decent hotel though we had not done any advance booking…

Next day we left for Kinnaur. It took as 8 hrs to reach Jeory from Narkanda-Rampur. Although we were travelling on NH22 the road was really bad at couple of places..From Jeory we had to take a decision to either go to Sarahan ( 1 hr) or Kalpa (4-5 hrs). People had adviced us to go to Sarahan which is similar to Kalpa and is called as gateway to Kinnaur.

We reached Sarahan at 2 PM but I quite did’nt like the place.. I was expecting something more for the 8 hr drive we had taken from Chail….We decided to go down and head for Kalpa..

As we headed for Kinnaur.. real adventure started.. Road was very narrow.. almost cutout from rocks… one could see deep valley on one side and rocky mountain on another side.. Unlike Chail …Kinnaur is not green… Has couple of orchards on its way but not as green as thick pine forest of Chail..From Wangtoo things started getting crazier… Absolutely no road, Sutlej on one side and along side Hydel power projects by JP Group… JP Group is in process of widening the road…The road is prone to landslides..All the way from Wangtoo to Karzam…we were thinking.. what shall we do… Taxi driver was looking at us ..as to what are we doing? where are we making him drive upto..?…From Karzam…Sangla is 16 km and Kalpa is 30 km.. It was getting dark and we had to decide between the two?…We choose.. Kalpa… Way from Karzam to Kalpa is really really really dangerous… 7 km on our way to Kalpa.. we saw a landslide.. Our taxi driver insisted that he cannot cross it as the car will get stuck…I insisted.. let us try… we tried.. and car almost got stuck..we decided to turn back…no knowing what to do… it was too late.. and we could not go back to Sarahan….we thought of giving Sangla a try?… Luckily… we were able to reach Sangla although road from Karzam to Sangla is also very dangerous…

As we reached Sangla.. we were greated by breathtaking view of Kinner Kailash…It was really amazing.. Our hard work had paid.. there aren’t many good options to stay in Sangla.. but it is fine… I wanted to go to last village of India ( Chitkul) but Nikki was already terrified with where I have taken her.. and did not want to go…

We headed next day from Sangla for Chail… On our way.. we found a very good camp with tents and log huts in Narkanda and decided to stay there.. This was again a very different and unique experience..We stayed here for one night and headed back to Gurgaon the next day:)

dream

The Path of Dream

Have u ever wondered how fluid the dream is.

Like a formless cloud.. it takes any shape it wants to

it expands, it grows, it shrinks, it bursts…

But more often than not.. we chase our dreams like a

traveler following a polestar, fixated by it..

thus automatically putting a freeze, not allowing our dream

to evolve.

Why not we allow our dream to just find its own float in the air.

Why not allow our dream to be

its own guide ??
